Maharashtra to Introduce Military Training for Class 1 Students

Maharashtra will introduce basic military training for students starting from Class 1. State School Education Minister Dada Bhuse announced this move. The training aims to instill patriotism and discipline. It also seeks to promote regular physical exercise among students.

  • Retired soldiers will provide the training.
  • “This will help inculcate love for the country,” Bhuse stated.
  • It will also encourage habits like regular physical exercise and discipline. These will benefit students, he added.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has responded positively to this proposal.

Implementation Plan

  • The proposal will use the help of 2.5 lakh ex-servicemen.
  • Sports teachers will also assist.
  • The National Cadet Corps (NCC) will contribute.
  • Scouts and Guides will also be involved in this initiative.
