Maharashtra Directorate of Education has announced key dates for the First Year Junior College (FYJC) Admission 2025 Centralised Admission Process (CAP) Round 2. Registrations for this round commence on July 10, 2025. This provides another chance for students to secure a junior college seat in Maharashtra.
Important Dates for FYJC CAP Round 2
- Registration Begins: July 10, 2025
- Application Deadline: July 13, 2025
- Allotment List Release: July 17, 2025
- Admission Confirmation: July 18 – July 21, 2025
- Vacant Seats Display: July 23, 2025
Students can apply and modify their preferences on the official website, mahafyjcadmissions.in The allotment list will be sent via SMS to registered mobile numbers. Students can select up to ten junior colleges. Those not allotted a seat in Round 1 can also change their stream and college preferences.
Round 1 saw 5,08,096 students confirm their seats. Out of these, 4,32,287 students secured spots through CAP, while 75,809 admissions occurred via various quotas. This year, the admission process covers five major urban areas: Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Amravati, Nagpur, Nashik, and Pune-Pimpri Chinchwad.

Science remained the most popular stream in Round 1, attracting 3,42,801 first-choice applications. Commerce followed with 1,39,602 students, and Arts had 1,49,791 preferences.
Selected students must log in to the portal between July 18 and July 21, 2025, to confirm their admission. This involves uploading necessary documents and completing other formalities. Failure to complete these steps by the deadline may result in seat forfeiture. The display of vacant seats on July 23 will offer further opportunities for students.
