Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has launched the Viksit Delhi Internship Programme to involve young people in the working of the government. The scheme will select 150 interns for a three-month paid internship. Each selected candidate will receive a monthly stipend of ₹20,000.

Selection Process

  • Stage 1: Online Application
    Candidates must apply online and meet basic eligibility.
    Key focus areas include:
    • Leadership ability
    • Civic knowledge
    • Awareness of public administration
  • Stage 2: Boot Camp
    Around 300 shortlisted candidates will attend a one-day camp.
    It will include:
    • Interactive workshops
    • Group sessions
    • Essay writing round
  • Final Selection:
    Based on performance at the boot camp, 150 interns will be selected.

Internship Structure

The internship is divided into three phases:

  1. Orientation and Training
    • Basic understanding of Delhi Government’s structure
    • Overview of key policy areas
  2. Field Assignments
    • Interns will be posted across all 70 assembly constituencies
    • They will identify local issues and propose simple solutions
  3. Policy and Departmental Work
    • Interns will work within government departments
    • They will write policy drafts on 10 selected governance issues
    • The top 2 drafts will be submitted to the Chief Minister
