Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera criticized the announcement, expressing strong disapproval of its implications. Expressed his disagreement with the IIT Kharagpur essay competition on social media and called the contest a “senseless effort to stroke the megalomaniac’s ego”. He expressed concern over the placement figures at IIT Kharagpur and said that in the 2021-22 academic year. The institute had the highest number of students unplaced at 39% among all IITs. Pawan Kheda’s comments show that the focus should be on improving educational and job prospects. Rather than engaging in politically motivated activities.
Shocking that premier institutes are not worried about falling placements but are engaging in senseless activities to stroke the megalomaniac's ego.
