IIM Indore has launched a ₹432 crore (plus GST) project named ‘ABHYUDAYA’ to significantly improve its academic facilities and promote a sustainable learning environment. The initiative focuses on the construction of new academic buildings, faculty offices, and student hostels incorporating advanced eco-friendly technologies.
Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, inaugurated the project, emphasizing its importance in aligning the infrastructure with the academic goals of the institute. ABHYUDAYA extends beyond the classrooms, aiming to contribute significantly to the well-being of students and faculty. The project prioritizes sustainable practices, including solar energy systems, a sewage treatment plant, and landscaping with native plant species to achieve a net-zero campus.
Modern Facilities for Students and Faculty
ABHYUDAYA will provide state-of-the-art facilities, including a new academic building. Accommodating 870 students, faculty offices, an incubation center, and a high-rise hostel with single occupancy rooms. The project will also enhance the campus experience with a new dining hall, a terrace food court, and a dedicated block for visiting faculty.
The architects designed ABHYUDAYA with a focus on environmental responsibility. They oriented the buildings for natural light and ventilation and are integrating electric vehicle charging stations into parking areas. The use of recyclable materials, rainwater harvesting, and a waste management system further underscore the project’s commitment to sustainability. Classrooms will incorporate cutting-edge technology to facilitate a dynamic learning environment, both online and offline.
