The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has informed its affiliated schools about free online courses offered by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for students in Grades 11 and 12.
CBSE is encouraging schools to promote these online courses as a way for students to supplement their learning and improve academic performance.
NCERT currently offers 28 online courses on the SWAYAM platform, covering diverse subjects like Science, Commerce, Humanities, Accountancy, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, and English.
The courses are available until September 30, 2024, and students can register any time before the September 1 deadline.
Interactive Learning on SWAYAM
The SWAYAM platform, launched by the Ministry of Education, provides Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) designed to enhance learning experiences. These NCERT courses are designed to be interactive and engaging:
Engaging Video Lectures: The courses feature video presentations led by esteemed educators.
Downloadable Materials: Students can access downloadable reading materials for offline study.
Self-Assessment Tools: Quizzes and tests help students gauge their understanding of the course content.
Discussion Forums: Online forums allow students to interact with peers, ask questions, and clarify doubts.

- Find the desired course and click on the link.
- Enroll in the course for free.
- Complete the course content and activities.
