Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship
This Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship provides support to the students from UG and MSc programmes who meet the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility
- BTech, BArch, IDD, IMT, IMS, BS-MS, and MSc students are eligible for this.
- Student categories must be in General, General-EWS, or OBC.
- Family annual income must be less than Rs 5 lakh.
- Student must have their CGPA and YGPA of 7.0.
- Students must clear all subjects and no disciplinary action ( Except for freshers).
Benefits
- Rs 1,000 per month for 10 months.
- Open to up to 25% of the class strength.
- BTech students will get a refund of the remaining tuition fees.
James Thomason Scholarship
The institute gives this award to top rankers. Students who achieve an All India Rank (AIR) of up to 250 in JEE Advanced automatically qualify.
Eligibility
- Students admitted through JEE (Advanced) in BTech, BArch, IDD, IMT, IMS, and BS-MS students are eligible for this.
- It is necessary to get an All India Rank (AIR) of up to 250.
Benefits
- It is given on the basis of rank in the first year.
- Financial assistance is provided based on the merit policy of the institute.

INSPIRE Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE)
This scholarship is run by the Department of Science and Technology (DST). IIT Roorkee renews the scholarship based on the institute’s rules.
Eligibility
- Candidates must have a top 1% rank in Class 12 or have a high score in JEE (Main), JEE (Advanced), NEET, or KVPY.
- Family annual income must be less than Rs 5 lakh.
- For the first year, BS-MS and MSc/Integrated MSc, an AIR up to 10,000 in JEE (Advanced 2021) or JAM 2022 rank is required.
- An integrated MSc in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics students are eligible for it.
- Students must have held INSPIRE earlier.
Benefits
- Rs 80,000 per Year.
Dr. S.K. Goel and Mrs Kusum Goel Scholarship
This scholarship program was started in 2022 for UG students.
Eligibility
- Only for first-year B.Tech students.
- General and OBC category students are only eligible for this scholarship.
- Family annual income must be less than Rs 5 lakh and Rs 6 lakh
- To proceed further, students must maintain a CGPA of 7.5.
Benefits
- Rs 2 lakh per year.
- The support will continue for 4 years.
- One new student will be added every year until 2025.
- After 2025, only four students will get a scholarship every year.
Scholarship for Disadvantaged Students Pursuing Engineering
This scholarship scheme helps students from economically and socially weak backgrounds. One slot is booked for a female student.
Eligibility
- First-year B.Tech students of the General or OBC category.
- Students should get a two-thirds waiver on tuition fees.
- At least one award will be reserved for a female student.
Benefits
- Rs 80,000 per year.
- Support will continue for four years.
- Students must maintain a CGPA of 7.0.
