New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made it stricter for students to attend school, with 75% attendance mandatory to take the Class 10 and 12 exams. This change is meant to make sure students get the most out of their school experience.
Why Going to School Regularly Matters
The CBSE believes that going to school regularly is very important for students’ growth. Schools help students learn about teamwork, build their character, and take part in activities outside of class. By being in school, students can join in these activities and get the most out of their learning.

Attendance Rules and Special Cases: The rule says that students need to be in school at least 75% of the time. But, if a student has a very serious health problem, participates in a big sports event, or has some other important issue, they can ask for a change, 25% relaxation in the mandatory attendance requirement. They can go to school less but still need to show proof to justify their absence.
By having this rule, CBSE wants to help students do well in school and also grow as people. They think that going to school regularly helps students learn to be responsible and well-rounded. When students are in school often, they can do well in their studies and also join fun activities, which helps them grow and be ready for the future.
