The first group of students will visit RMIT University and Melbourne

RMIT University recently welcomed the first batch of students enrolled in the BITS-RMIT Higher Education Academy, an unprecedented dual degree program between India and Australia.

  • Program Structure: Students spend their first two years studying engineering at BITS Pilani in India before transferring to RMIT University in Melbourne for the final two years of their degree.
  • Benefits for students: This unique program provides students with a global perspective and equips them with the skills required for successful careers in both India and Australia.

To prepare these students for their upcoming studies in Melbourne, RMIT University organized a two-week immersion visit. The visit included:

  • Campus Visit: Students explored RMIT’s facilities and learned about the university’s engineering programs.
  • Cultural Experiences: Students visited iconic sites such as the MCG and the Australian Sports Museum to get a taste of Melbourne’s vibrant culture.
  • Interaction with Faculty and Students: Students had the opportunity to engage with RMIT professors and current students. Giving them insight into the university’s collaborative learning environment.

Students expressed their excitement about the program and their positive impressions of Melbourne:

  • Rachit Soni, a mechanical engineering student, highlighted the visit to sporting venues as a major highlight.
  • Vaibhavi Pandey, an electrical engineering (honors) student, was impressed by the collaborative and passionate atmosphere at RMIT.
