Prof. Shyama Rath from AICTE and Dan Cook from OpenAI India signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement will provide 1,50,000 free ChatGPT Go licenses for six months. A pilot program with 5,000 licenses will ensure a smooth rollout.
This initiative especially targets institutions in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. The goal is to ensure equal access to technological advancements nationwide. AICTE OpenAI partnership:
- Free ChatGPT Access: The agreement provides 1,50,000 free ChatGPT Go licenses for six months. This will allow students to use powerful AI tools for learning and research.
- Faculty Training: Faculty members will get access to the OpenAI Academy. They will also participate in ‘Train-the-Trainer’ programs. These programs will help them use AI effectively in their teaching.
- Assessment and Research: Both AICTE and OpenAI will track the usage of these tools. They will also assess learning outcomes. They plan to develop case studies to show how AI is impacting education.
- Non-Profit Approach: The MoU is designed to be non-profit. This ensures the tools are inclusive and accessible to all students and faculty.
