Delhi has recently faced a new series of hoax bomb threats, causing widespread disruption. On Wednesday, over 20 colleges, including Jesus and Mary College, received threatening emails. This follows a similar incident last week, when over 100 schools were targeted over five days. The threats have consistently been found to be false.

Emergency services, including the Delhi Police, Fire Services, and bomb squads, responded swiftly to the college threats. They conducted thorough searches. Officials later confirmed that no explosives were found. Preliminary investigations suggest that the sender used a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to conceal their identity. This makes it difficult for authorities to trace the source of the emails.

This pattern of threats has become a growing concern for the public and educational institutions. Earlier in August, multiple schools in areas like Dwarka and Prasad Nagar received similar threats. These incidents led to large-scale evacuations and emergency searches. Likewise, in July, more than 50 schools were targeted. This forced some institutions to temporarily switch to online classes.

The recurring nature of these hoaxes is causing alarm. For instance, Delhi Public School in Dwarka also received a threat in August. St Stephen’s College and St Thomas School in Dwarka were affected in July. All these threats were found to be baseless.
