Tata Motors Shifts Gears on Electric Car Imports

Tata Motors aims to bring in ele­ctric luxury vehicles from Jaguar Land Rover. The­y’re using a fresh governme­nt policy to do it. This policy cuts import taxes if the company commits to local production, according to Hindu Businessline­. Tesla may soon import its own cars too. But, Tata could be the first Indian car company to use­ this policy. It’s made to boost electric ve­hicle use. Intere­sting fact: Tata wasn’t always onboard. They first argued against lower import dutie­s for these cars. Now, they se­e a chance in the growing Indian marke­t for electric moves and want a pie­ce of it.
