Indian Railways freight transportation handling witnessed a significant surge in June 2024, registering a 10.07% rise compared to the same period last year. This positive movement translates to a freight volume of 135.46 Million Tonnes (MT), propelled primarily by a rise in coal transportation.

Revenue Rise

The positive trend extended to revenue as well. Indian Railways Freight Transportation revenue for June 2024 reached Rs 14,798.11 crore, reflecting an 11.12% increase over Rs 13,316.81 crore earned in June 2023.
