Two decades after its initial release, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 starring Tobey Maguire and Kristen Dunst returned to theaters for a triumphant re-release.

This re-release is part of a larger celebration by Sony Pictures Entertainment, which plans to screen all eight live-action Spider-Man films over eight weeks. The festivities will culminate with the return of Spider-Man: No Way Home in June.
The return of Raimi’s Spider-Man franchise coincides with Columbia Pictures’ 100th anniversary. So far, the re-released films have generated a combined $1.5 million for Sony.
