The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened self-nominations for the National Teacher Award 2025. This award recognizes outstanding teachers and principals from CBSE-affiliated private independent schools. The deadline for applications is July 6, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
- Teachers: Must have completed at least 10 years of continuous service in a school affiliated with a recognized board by March 31, 2025.
- Principals: Need a minimum of 10 years of teaching experience and 5 years as a principal in a CBSE-affiliated institution by March 31, 2025.
- Teachers or principals retiring on or after March 31, 2025, are also eligible.
- Applicants can apply under only one category. Principals cannot apply in the teacher category.

Required Documents (upload as PDF, each under 1MB)
- A signed declaration verifying information accuracy.
- Recommendation letters and service certificates, signed by the school manager.
- Academic documents from Class 10 to post-graduation.
- Student results from board or school-level exams.
The school head (for teachers) or school manager (for principals) must verify all documents.

CBSE National Teacher Award 2025 Selection Process
CBSE will assess applications based on service length, academic qualifications, age, and exam performance. A merit list will include the top 24 shortlisted candidates. These individuals will participate in a national-level interaction session. Finally, a National Level Scrutiny Committee will select six awardees.
Heads of institutions should inform all eligible staff about this opportunity and ensure timely application submissions.
